Carbon Emissions
Carbon/Carbon Emissions – used as shorthand for greenhouse gas emissions
More details in "the trouble with carbon" - most carbon emissions come from burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and methane from livestock - the ruminant rumour that cow burps might destroy the planet - are a bit exaggerated but cow burps, manure heaps etc tend to produce methane - a 30 times more powerful greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide - these emissions are expressed as CO2e· - carbon dioxide equivalent - Because so much of the energy we use comes from fossil fuels carbon emissions and energy consumption equate quite closely - so in general the biggest users of energy are the biggest per capita carbon emitters.
